What Makes Us Unique

Big Sister is an affiliate of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. While we offer the same One-to-One Mentoring programs as many Big Brothers Big Sisters organizations in the country, we do so with an exclusive focus on girls. Big Sister is the oldest and largest mentoring organization in Greater Boston exclusively serving girls. We proudly:
 

• Run group programs for adolescent girls designed to provide adult mentors to girls at the stage of development when peers become powerfully influential
  
   
• Hire and retain a professional staff who have backgrounds in women’s and girls’ issues
  
   
• Train our mentors on the issues that affect girls from elementary school through adolescence
  
   
• Function as a thought leader and a resource; providing training and technical assistance to other organizations who are trying to strengthen their programming for girls
