MENTORING PROGRAMS - PLEASE CHOOSE ONE	Community-Based Mentoring: For women 20 years and older. Mentor a girl in your community between the ages of 7-15. Matches meet regularly after school after work or on the weekends. Commitment is for at least one year. School-Based Mentoring: (please see SBM section below to choose a location and time) For women 18 years and older. Mentor a girl in elementary school. Matches meet at a school site (usually during lunch) or at an after-school site (3:30-5:30 p.m.) for 45 minutes to an hour. Commitment is for at least one academic year.

OTHER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
	Big for a Day (BFAD): For women 20 years and older. BFAD is an opportunity for girls who are waiting to be matched with Big Sisters to benefit from the friendship of a woman mentor for one day. BFAD volunteers are encouraged to attend one agency-sponsored BFAD event each month or as many as their schedule permits.
	Non-Mentoring Volunteer Opportunities: Help us in the office with mailings, data entry or special projects; help raise money for our great programs; or help us recruit other Big Sisters to serve more girls across Greater Boston!
BACKGROUND CHECK
All prospective volunteers will be required to complete a separate form authorizing a criminal record check for any conviction and pending criminal case information.
REFERENCES
