Big for a Day

Big for a Day (BFAD) is a program that engages Ready to be Matched Little Sisters* in one-day activities (such as bowling, dancing, or arts and crafts). The program is a way for us to get to know the girls who are waiting to be matched, as well as provide an opportunity to engage women who aren't able to make the commitment at the time to become One-to-One or Group Mentoring Big Sisters. Ready to be Matched Little Sisters are paired with Big for a Day mentor, and the Big and Little Sisters enjoy the event together with other matches. Big for a Day mentors are asked to transport Little Sisters to events, either by car or MBTA. Big for a Day activities are scheduled once a month, and held in the Greater Boston Area. *A Ready to be Matched Little Sister is a girl who has already been assessed by a Big Sister social worker and is currently on the waiting list to be matched with a Big Sister.
