Assistant Manager of Enrollment & Matching, CBM

Big Sister Boston is seeking a solution driven individual with the capacity to successfully build communities and lead healthy and high-performing teams to join us as our next Assistant Manager of Enrollment & Matching for our Community-Based Mentoring (CBM) program. The CBM program is a one-to-one mentoring program which matches girls, age 7-to-15, with adult women mentors. As a Big Sister staff member, you will contribute to a mentor-rich community in which every girl has access to the individual nurturing, guidance and support she needs to become a confident, competent, and caring adult.  

 

The Assistant Manager of Enrollment & Matching, CBM is responsible for all aspects of service delivery to ensure that the team achieves its annual growth and quality goals through department leadership, group facilitation, program administration, curriculum development, and intra-agency collaboration. The Assistant Manager role supervises a maximum of eight direct reports and supports team members’ skills and growth within the organization. The Enrollment & Matching team is responsible for conducting assessments for potential volunteer mentors (Big Sisters) and mentees (Little Sisters) and making thoughtful match decisions, with the goal of creating long and strong match relationships. This team plays a key role in facilitating the mentor/mentee relationships that are foundational to our mission.

Responsibilities

  • Build, develop and lead a team of professional staff 
  • Oversee all aspects of the enrollment and matching process for potential Big Sisters and potential Little Sisters in the Community-Based Mentoring (CBM) program 
  • Monitor volunteer and child enrollment patterns and communicate volume and geography needs to ensure that goals are met (department goals, grant-specific goals, and organization-wide goals) 
  • Work dynamically with recruitment department, and facilitate assistance in recruitment when E&M team is not at full capacity 
  • Work collaboratively with other managers, identifying strategies for improvements and ensuring successful implementation of project plans 
  • Ensure implementation of customer service standards 
  • Monitor operational effectiveness using workflow and tracking systems, gather accurate information for reports, track performance and develop measures to ensure success 
  • Conduct quality assurance activities, including, but not limited to evaluations, and case reviews 
  • Conduct volunteer and family engagement strategies  
  • Pilot newly identified program models 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least two years of experience in direct service, youth development, social work, or a related area 
  • At least one-year of experience as a team leader or supervisor with demonstrated ability to build and lead a healthy and high performing team 
  • Sensitivity to and experience in working with culturally diverse populations and with girls and women and with the ability to build strong, healthy and productive relationships 
  • Ability to effectively facilitate programming for adolescent girls  
  • Passion and a proven track record of success in developing and managing productive partner relationships 
  • At least one-year experience in analyzing and synthesizing data for curriculum design and training  
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills with ability to consistently meet deadlines 
  • Excited about and effective in working autonomously and within a cross-functional team  
  • Enthusiastic about learning with the ability to give and receive constructive feedback 
  • Facility with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with data management systems (Big Sister uses a Salesforce database platform) 
  • Availability and flexibility to work weekday evenings and weekends on a regular basis, as well as travel to varying local venues 
  • Access to a car strongly preferred; valid Driver’s License required

 

Reports to: Director of Community-Based Mentoring 

Language Skills:  Written and oral fluency in English; candidates who also have proficiency or fluency in other languages, especially Spanish, are strongly encouraged to apply 

Start date: October 1, 2022

Location: Big Sister Association Offices, 20 Park Plaza, Boston, MA. Our office will continue a hybrid working model that allows staff flexibility to work remotely and in the office. 

Compensation: This position offers a competitive salary starting at $59,071. Full-time, exempt position. Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off and health benefits.
