Coordinator of Big for a Day

Big Sister Boston is seeking dynamic individuals to join our Community-Based Mentoring team. The Community-Based program is a one-to-one mentoring program which matches girls, age 7-to-15, with adult women mentors. As a Big Sister staff member, you will contribute to a mentor-rich community in which every girl has access to the individual nurturing, guidance and support she needs to become a confident, competent, and caring adult.

The Big for a Day Coordinator will manage the Big for a Day (BFAD) program where volunteers and corporate/community partners experience the power of mentoring and support a wide variety of Big Sister Boston’s programming and enrichment services. The BFAD program annually serves approximately 300 girls in the Greater Boston area, by matching them with Big for a Day Big Sisters for a one-day event. BFAD programming provides a critical service to girls who are waiting to be matched with their long-term 1:1 Big Sister mentor by giving them the opportunity to participate in enrichment programming, including STEM (science/technology/engineering/mathematics), the arts, health and fitness, college and job readiness and civic engagement. These events are most often sponsored by corporate/ community partners.

Big Sister is committed to hiring staff who reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. Candidates of color, multilingual and multicultural candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
