Did you know that more than 500 girls will request a Big Sister in our School-Based and Group Mentoring programs this school year? Becoming a Big Sister is a great way to have fun and help girls reach their full potential. We have partnerships with schools and after-school programs throughout Greater Boston. School-Based Mentoring: This One-to-One mentoring program matches girls in elementary school with women volunteers. Big and Little Sisters meet during the girl’s lunch-time or at her after-school program. Matches enjoy lunch together, do crafts, play games or just talk.
TEAM (Team Enhanced Approach to Mentoring): This Group Mentoring program matches groups of girls in grades 6-9 with groups of women volunteers. Big and Little Sisters engage in structured activities and discussions led by a Big Sister staff member on topics such as self-esteem, relationships, drugs and alcohol, career awareness and diversity.
