On Saturday, November 7, nearly 500 Big Sister Boston community members went behind the scenes to discover the many different ways we are making and supporting thousands of transformative relationships between Big and Little Sisters each year. Guests were educated, inspired, and treated to some wonderful surprises that demonstrated the powerful impact of our work.

We celebrated our 2015 Believe in Girls (B.I.G.) honoree, former President & CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Paul Guzzi.

Hosted by Event Chairs James Gallagher, Karen Kaplan, and Regina Pisa, with Emcee Lisa Hughes of CBS Boston’s WBZ, this year’s Big in Boston raised MORE THAN $1 million in support of our mentoring and enrichment programs for girls.

Guests heard from Hope, the mother of Little Sister D’Vine, and from D’Vine’s Big Sister Anouska Bhattacharyya. Little Sister D’Vine then spoke to the ways in which her confidence and perspective on her future have dramatically improved in the four years since she has been matched with her Big Sister:

“Anouska makes me feel like I’m amazing, incredible,
and one of the most important people in the world.
I really feel like I am who I am because of her. ”

– Little Sister D’Vine

One of the night’s surprises included Little Sister Leila, who has been matched with Big Sister Talia Doucette for more than four years, and wowed the crowd with her rendition of “Fight Song.” Big thanks to Northeastern University’s Pitch, Please for the back-up!

After the surprise close to the program, guests hit the dance floor for Big in Boston: The After Party, hosted by our Young Professional Board.

On behalf of the thousands of Little Sisters we serve,
we thank you for your generosity.
