Big Sister Elects New Board President

As we prepare for our 60th anniversary, Max Bardeen, managing director at UBS Financial Services, Inc., will take the helm as Board president. The announcement was made at Big Sister’s Annual Meeting, on Monday, May 10, sponsored by Grand Circle Foundation and Jules Catering. Bardeen has been a member of Big Sister’s Board of Directors since 2007 and served as the Board’s vice president for the past two years. “This is an exciting time for Big Sister,” said Bardeen. “We’ve been providing girls in this city with positive mentoring relationships for nearly 60 years, and I’m excited about the opportunities for growth that lie ahead.”

O’Brien, Arzu, McNally, and Bardeen are the new leadership of Big Sister’s Board

At the meeting a new slate of Board officers was also announced. Former Board president, Tim O’Brien, senior vice president at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, will now serve as chair. Sharon McNally, chief of staff at The Connors Family Office, assumed the role of vice president. Aileen Keaney, vice president of finance at Audax Group, and Essence McGill Arzu, a partner at Foley Hoag LLP, will remain in their roles as treasurer and clerk, respectively. “With this dynamic leadership of our Board, Big Sister is strategically positioned to offer the support and guidance of a mentor to girls who need it most.” said Deborah Re, Big Sister’s chief executive officer. Big Sister also officially welcomed new Board members, Kathy Kiely, president of the Ad Club of Boston, Kerry Nelson, managing partner at Skystone Capital Management; Joseph Realmuto, partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; and Kathleen C. Wallace, managing director at RINET Company, LLC.
