On January 22nd, more than 200 guests filled the Legends Club at Boston’s TD Garden in celebration of our Big Sisters of the Year, Community Partner of the Year, and Corporate Partner of the Year.  Guests heard inspiring stories about the power of mentoring from our Big Sisters of the Year, enjoyed great food, and took part in an exciting raffle with fabulous prizes!

Big Sister of the Year Tricia Luong said of her relationship with her Little Sister Sharlice: “For the last several years, we’ve had a ridiculous amount of fun, but we’ve also been there for each other and have held each other’s hand tight especially during really tough times. She has been there for me in more ways than she may ever understand, but I hope that every time I say ‘I love you,’ she knows I mean it.”

Congratulations again to our Big Sisters of the Year: Lisa Ewing, Tricia Luong, Ana Leon, Arantxa Medina, and Caroline Kohler; our Corporate Partner of the Year, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts; and our Community Partner of the Year, Diane Hammer, Director of the Simmons Institute for Leadership and Change at Simmons College.

Accepting on behalf of Blue Cross Blue Shield, Jeff Bellows, Vice President, Corporate Citizenship, said, “We understand the importance of surrounding young people with positive adults and what an amazing impact it can have in the lives of our youth, and Big Sister does that in spades. We recognize the unique value of this agency which exclusively serves girls in the neighborhoods of Boston that have the greatest need.”

We look forward to fostering deeper relationships and more partnerships as we continue our work serving girls in Greater Boston.
