Trending this season at our Project Role Model fashion show?

A ballroom full of fashion-forward, mission-driven friends.

A runway full of role models.

Supporting Greater Boston’s women and girls.

Thanks to nearly 400 supporters who purchased tickets, sponsored the show, bid on silent and live auction items, or gave generously so that Big Sister Boston can make and support more mentoring relationships that enrich our community, Project Role Model 2018 was a stylish success! Together we raised $230,000 in support of our mentoring and enrichment programs that we provide for 2,700 girls annually.

WBZ-TV/CBS Boston’s Lisa Hughes brought the runway to life as emcee and Steve Burton raised critical funds with our board Vice Chair, Mariann Youniss. Alongside Big Sisters Claudia Rodriguez, Jessica Gallagher, Carla Monteiro, Mounika Vutukuru and Little Sisters Selena, Barbara, Kissani, and Juna were homegrown role models Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans, who paid tribute to fashion show co-chair Kelly McDermott’s late father, Jack Hynes; Chantel Mayo, founder of The Brand Finale and wife of former Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo; Denise Kaigler, author and founder of MDK Brand Management; Jeff Bellows, Vice President of Corporate Citizenship & Public Affairs at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts; MA Representative Jeffrey Sanchez, Chair of the House Ways and Means Committee; Melissa MacDonnell, President of the Liberty Mutual Foundation; Janelle Woods-McNish, Director of Service and Giving at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation; Mark Lund, President and General Manager at WBZ-TV/CBS Boston; Kate Merrill, WBZ-TV/CBS Boston morning news anchor; Justin Kang, Vice President, Economic Growth at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce; Margery Eagan, WGBH host and Boston Globe journalist; Secretary of Health and Human Services, Mary Lou Sudders; Peggy Fogelman, Executive Director of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum; Shellee Mendes, Stylist and Owner of Newbury Street’s Salon Monet; Lauren Mottley, Senior Manager of Analytics & Insights at Cogito Corp; and Jane Steinmetz, Managing Principal at Ernst & Young and first woman to head a “big four” accounting firm in Boston.
