Support Team Big Sister for the 2024 Boston Marathon

Sarah Juteau

As a current Big Sister, I have seen firsthand how one-to-one mentoring can make a meaningful impact on a Little Sister’s life. As a member of the Big Sister Team, I hope to create more awareness around running and show girls, like my Little Sister, that they too can run a marathon and accomplish anything they set their mind to.

Stormy Speaks

I’m thrilled to lace up my running shoes and join the Big Sister Boston Marathon Charity Team to participate in the historic Boston Marathon. This incredible opportunity means more to me than just completing a race on my bucket list; it is about making a meaningful impact on the lives of girls.  Additionally, I work as the Director, Human Resources for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, so Big Sister Boston’s mission to support and empower girls through mentorship is a cause that resonates deeply with me.

Lauren Mauretti

My name is Lauren Mauretti, I recently moved to Brookline, MA, and graduated from Saint Anselm College this past May! I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to run the 128th Boston Marathon for Big Sister Boston. I will be running in honor of my grandmother “Meme” Frances Chepren. Meme passed this fall after a 24-year-long battle with cancer. Through this battle she never let cancer be her identity, she was a woman of so much more.  The traits and values that my Meme held throughout her entire life are shared with the mission of Big Sister Association of Greater Boston. The exact reason why I want to run for Big Sisters and why I have also begun the process of becoming a Big Sister. I cannot wait to begin this experience with Big Sister Boston and crossing the finish line April 15th!!

Melissa Fernando

Melissa’s educational background is rooted in Movement, Sports and Health Science. She is deeply passionate about philanthropy, her role as a Big Sister Boston Mentor and serving as a teen life coach. She ran the 2017 Boston Marathon for Hope and Comfort, showcasing her commitment to make a positive impact. Her dedication to empower young girls is exemplified by her participation in the Boston Marathon for Big Sister Boston, advocating for their safety and confidence to speak their truths. Her determination has continued to strengthen despite the loss of her husband in 2018.

Peyton Jackson

I am thrilled to be running the 2024 Boston Marathon with Big Sister Boston! As a Big Sister since 2018, I know the importance of mentorship and the strength and impact it has on young girls. Beyond my passion and excitement to be raising money for such an important organization, running a marathon has been a life-long goal. I cannot wait to form lasting memories and friendship with the inaugural Big Sister Boston team!
